GREEN CELEBS

Woody Harrelson protested a lumber company's logging of ancient redwood trees by climbling the Golden Gate Bridge shutting down traffic for more than six hours! Kudos Mr. Harrelson. He also refused to eat real twinkies during filming of Zombieland and ate homemade vegan cornmeal Twinkies instead. In 2009, he recieved an honorary degree from York University for his contributions to enviornmentalism and sustainability. Ok one more thing! Woody ran Voice Yourself for 10 yrs!

Daryl Hannah is obviously a dedicated environmentalist. She has been arrested twice; once for protesting the bulldozing of the country's largest uban farm in LA (she chained herself to a tree for three weeks) and to protest against mountaintop removal in West Virginia. Leonardo DiCaprio wrote, produced and narrated the an eco-documentary The 11th Hour. He also started the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation supporting environmentally friendly initiatives. Check this out, in order to be more envionrmentally friendly, he chooses not to fly private planes but he flies commercial!

Cameron Diaz was one of the first celebs to go green! She helped with 2007's Live Earth concert series. Diaz also starred in Cameron Diaz Saves the World, which urged people to find out more about the enviornment. She also co-wrote The Green Book: The Everyday Guide to Saving the Planet One Simple Step at a Time


BRAD PITT committed himself to building 150 homes using green technology and material in the 9th ward of New Orleans for the Hurricane Katrina victims. He also met with President Obama to discuss federally funding green housing projects.

Alicia Silverstone lives in an eco-friendly house with an organic veggie garden and a pack of rescued dogs to protect her. She also created her own natural cosmetics line and wrote The Kind Diet for her vegan lifestyle.

Natalie Portman is a long time vegetarian and animal-rights activist. In 2007, she designed a line of vegan shoes for Te Casan in which all profits were donated to envionmental organizations.
