It AMAZES me how offshore drilling is still even an option after the devastating OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. However, everyone does not feel the same obviously. OBAMA GETS TERRIBLE GRADE FOR OIL SPILL RESPONSE
I love Obama as much as the next person however, Americans in a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll give him failing grades on his response to the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill. Apparently 53% of people surveyed gives the Obama Administration a "poor job" a poor rating with their response to the oil spill.Obama's Response
So Far ..
1) Obama has sent 3 top officials to the Gulf of Mexico to monitor the oil spill.
2) Obama is delaying new offshore drilling for now. 3) He's visited Louisianna where the oil spill is headed to.
Consequences and repercussionsneed to be placed upon BP!

While searching youtube for old shows, we stumbled upon Babysitter's Club originated in 1986. I was a tad bit too young to catch the episodes so I dont quit remember what the show was like. What sparked my interest while reading the menu was the fact that they are extremely environmentally friendly. If you remember, I did a post about the clubbing of seals as a sport in Canada. Well, they are strongly against it and also mentions it in their menu! AMAZING It basically made me super happy. They even have a mini library! (You know i'm a dork. its ok!)

I knew I loved this store for a reason.
Not only do they have amazing clothes but they are also environmetally friendly! American Apparel recycles over 1 million pounds of cotton a year. This is an alternative to dumping over 30,000 pounds of cotton cuttings a week into the landfills.
American Apparel also (obviously) is United States based meaning that all of the clothes are made in American. Thats right. No sweat shops! Another reason why American Apparel is so great.

These all may come from Volatile Organic Compounds . The EPA concluded that indoor air is three times as polluted at outdoor air. Why is that? Indoor air contains fumes from paints and finishes and also, how many of us keep air circulating? Most of the air is confined all day in the rooms of our homes.

Its summer! Keep windows open and feel the nice cool breeze. This will get air circulating in your house so that it wont be so stuffy.
If you're painting, paint with low/no VOC which will be indicated on the can. They are odorless and they release no fumes! Dont worry, they all come in the same colors are their harmful counterparts.

MEATLESS MONDAYS !
DROP THE CHEESE BURGER!
"Meatless Mondays" is becoming increasingly popular. EAT NO MEAT ON MONDAYS. Its a step for people who would like to become a vegetarian but cant quit just cold turkey OR for people who simply would like to become more environmentally conscious when it comes to their consumption of food.
Why Monday? Studies have shown that behaviors are more likely maintained if begun at the beginning of the week.
Going "meatless" conserves water, reduces carbon footprints and lowers the intake of saturated fats!
Contrary to popular belief, you DON'T need meat for protein so you DON'T need meat every day with your meal.
Something to think about before you stop through McDonalds for lunch !

This video litterally changed my life at 6 years old. Everyone always asks me why and how I became so passionate about saving the environment and up until a few years ago I didnt know why. I knew that I LOVED the Earth Song by Michale Jackson and then I watched the video again a couple years ago and I realized, this is what opened my eyes.
So every since I was a kid I also knew I HAD to protect "Mother Nature" is what I called the environment. I was the little girl picking up trash on the playground instead of sliding on slides at the park. I would cry and get very angry when people would throw trash on the ground.
And then my Uncle Ron, who worked for the EPA, taught me all about recycling with his 10 recycling bins in his New Jersey home. Its all been up hill from there!
I LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON FOR THIS. Despite the horrible rumors about him, he was a humanitarian.
So PLEASE watch this video. And I hope it does to you, what it has to me.
